A well worn example of the rare "J.B. Schiller" counter-stamped cent. He boosted the value to 10 cents and marked it with an "X" on the reverse. This is a very rare example of Confederate coinage that was actually used during the war. Only about 15 examples are known to exist. Most are a higher grade since the time in circulation was only a few years. This may have been carried as a keep-sake or pocket-piece for many years.
