Typical Proof (11: 3,3,5) . The rare Low Leaves reverse. This is a redesigned reverse intended to lower the relief of the die and increase the die life. This was introduced in 1858 and we can pinpoint the date of manufacture by this fact. Only ten examples are known. As this is an adopted reverse, it is widely seen as an important design variation which aside from its rarity, should be included in any date/design set. This piece is fully struck and has medium mirrors. There are no real marks, and only a few light hairlines and these are appropriate for the grade.
