Choice Proof (11: 3,3,5) BN. Copper. The popular 1855 Flying Eagle cent. About 100 examples were struck in copper and bronze. After years of analysis it is believed that only about 20 are actually copper. Most examples graded as J167 (copper) have been reattributed as J-168 (bronze). This example is fully struck with medium mirrors, as is typical for the issue. There is a light purple tone over the brown patina. This is a great opportunity to acquire a scarcer example of the 1855 Flying Eagle than typically seen.
