1896 Snow-21 FS-302 "Flying 9" 1C Indian Cent Discovery coin! AU58
This is an exciting recent find by Doug Hill. It has a bold horn-shaped die chip off the 9. It is nicknamed, the "Flying 9". The die chip is believed to have been part of a broken piece on the digit punch that got impressed into the die. A unique and unusual variety. This is so important that the variety will be listed in the new Cherrypicker's Guide due out in a few months. It is currently unique. Why has such a dramatic variety not been noticed until now? I believe the rarity of this variety will hold up. This example is almost uncirculated but has a scratch through the last four feathers to the final A in AMERICA.
