1888 1C Indian Cent PCGS MS67RD
Well struck, but with a debris strike-though in the first three feather tips. A few minor marks on the obverse. Only two examples are graded and the other one has spots, so this is the only one. It was initially graded in 1996 and was in a old green-label holder until recently. This example is from the Castle collection where it sold for $31,200 (HA 8/19:3687). Earlier from the Thomas collection (HA 4/09:2087 $46,000). Its initial auction appearance was in the Rollins collection (HA 8/08:1535 $63,250). The second example, with the spot, just sold for $18,000 (SB 6/20:329). Rather than bring the value of this example down, as it is the sole unspotted example, it should be worth more.
PCGS pop 2, with none graded higher.
