1860 T1 1C Pointed Bust (Accented E) Indian Cent PCGS MS65 (PHOTO SEAL)
Gem Unc (13: 3,5,5). The Type of 1859 design with a pointed bust. Why this design was not carried on is a mystery as it is sharper than the redesigned portrait used until 1864. Only a small percentage of cents of this date are pointed bust, no more than 1 in 20. This example is fully struck and is a sharp early die state. There are two marks above the eye. This is the Accented E die with a large die gouge over the E in ONE. Likely the finest known of this die pair.
