1858 1C Indian cent - Exact type of '59. J-208d, Snow-PT35 NGC PR64CAM (PHOTO SEAL)
Choice Proof (14: 4,5,5). Narrow bust and 6-leaf reverse. This is the exact style used in 1859. Only 10 examples are known and this is the only Cameo-designated example. Most examples show very shallow mirrors. Only two are graded higher at PR65, but they are not Cameo. This is an outstanding example with deep mirrors with die polish lines in the fields on both sides. Obviously a first strike example. Only a few marks are hidden in the field die polish lines - By the OF and below the portrait. All other dies are on the die from the polishing. As the true transitional die pair, this is one of the highly desired of all the 1858 Pattern cent die combinations. This is one of the best examples known as well.
