1858 Indian Head Cent, Narrow bust / Oak Wreath 1C J-211 PT33 PCGS PR64 (PHOTO SEAL)
Choice Proof (13: 4,4,5) Very rare with only 9 examples known and one example is in the Smithsonian. Tied for finest known with three other pieces, on of which we sold last year for $7,500. This example is outstanding with very few marks and good mirrors. The dies are heavily striated as shown in the first images. This is highly desired as when the coin is turned, deep mirrors show, as shown in the second set of images. The coin is a golden tone with a bright area on the reverse. This color variation does not appear to be from anything but storage prior to the slab era. The narrow bust Indian cent patterns are a rare subset of the regular J-211, J-213, J-212 and J-208. All are known by only 10 examples maximum. Here is a chance to acquire one of the best.
