1858 1C Large Letters Low Leaves FS-901 Flying Eagle Cent PCGS MS65 (PHOTO SEAL)
Gem Unc (13: 4,4,5) Open E, Type 3. The E is slightly open, a subset of the Open E reverse types. Light golden tone. The Large Letter/Low Leaf combination is scarce combination and worthy of an addition to the basic Flying Eagle set. In addition to the obverse die being changed from Large Letter to Small Letter (High relief to low relief), the reverse was also changed from High Leaves (High relief to low relief). A few Large letter obverse dies were leftover and used with the new design reverse.
