1856 1C Snow 2 Flying Eagle Cent PCGS PR62
A rare die pairing with the "Pointed U" obverse and the reverse from the 1857 Proof issue. Only six examples are traced and it is estimated that at most ten examples exist in total, although after years of searching, it is likely that all examples have been identified. This example is listed in the condition census as the fourth finest known. The higher graded examples are not likely to become available for many years. This example has exceptional mirrors and is very attractive on the obverse. The reverse shows some areas where the extremely delicate high knife-rim is bent inwards (5:00). It is unusual to see such a high knife-rim on a 1856 Flying Eagle cent. Dies are aligned as shown with the eagle flying upwards. Here is a very spacial opportunity to acquire a very rare die pair of the 1856 Flying Eagle.
