1854 1C Large Flying Eagle Cent J-164 Org. PCGS PR62BN (PHOTO SEAL)
Proof (12: 3,4,5) BN. Bronze. A very popular example of the first Flying Eagle cent. This example has a good strike and very few marks. It has deep envelope toning, but there are good mirrors visible under the toning. This example was struck twice with evidence of the reverse die turning about 30 degrees between strikes. Old green-label holder from over 20 years ago. It is estimated that about 70 examples were struck, with an additional 20 struck in copper (J-163). This example is nicer than the grade suggests.
