Proof Indian Cents
1862 PR-66 CAMEO CAC PCGS $3,850.00
See Image
A decent coin with great eye appeal. This coin carries the CAC label of acceptance. There are some light flyspecs, so it does not get a Photo seal
as well. Priced just slightly over the CAC sight-unseen bid. A great buy at this price.
1864 No L PR-66RB {PS} PCGS $6,500.00
See Image
80% RED. Great eye appeal. Very tough and a one year type. Flashes full red in the light.
1864 No L PR-66RB {PS} PCGS $7,000.00
See Image
50% RED. Mostly a muted full red on the obverse and mostly brown on the reverse. This is a very tough date with an estimated mintage of 300
(not 150 as is usually reported). This coin is outstanding and is in an old green-label PCGS holder.
1866 PR-64RB {PS} PCGS $800.00
See Image
40% RED. Mostly full red obverse, although it is difficult to photograph. The reverse is mostly brown.
1867 PR-64RD {PS} PCGS $2,750.00
See Image
Here is a beautiful frosty example of this very tough date. The mirrors are very deep and the devices frosted on the obverse,
certianly a cameo contrast. The reverse has good mirrors as well, but the contrast does not merit a cameo designation. Very attractive.
1871 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $5,000.00
See Image
A beautiful full red with good mirrors and wonderful eye appeal. Only one small mark on the cheek holds it back from a 66RD. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1874 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $6,500.00
See Image
Here is a deep mirrored beauty with outstanding surfaces and cameo contrast. Very low population. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1879 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $1,700.00
See Image
Very beautiful with cameo devices and orange-peel fields. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1880 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $1,500.00
See Image
Attractive with frosty devices. A common date, but in uncommon condition.
1883 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $2,500.00
See Image
A very tough date to find in full red, which is odd when one notes that the most common date is 1884. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1883 PR-66BN {PS} PCGS $850.00
See Image
Outstanding surfaces with a touch of purple toning.
1884 PR-66RD {PS} PCGS $2,800
See Image
This is a beautiful deep mirror gem with outstanding eye appeal. Probably worthy of a
cameo designation. 1st generation vintage holder.
1884 PR-66RD PCGS {PS} $2,750.00
See Image
An essentially perfect coin. This is the most common date in the Proof Indian series, especially in full red.
But even so, that only means there are at most 31 other examples of this date graded by PCGS. A great coin for a gem type set.
1888 PR-64RD {PS} PCGS $2,250.00
See Image
Very attractive and high end for the grade.
1891 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $3,000.00
See Image
Here is a gorgeous gwem full red proof. The coin is a cameo, but was graded prior to PCGS labeling cameos.
This is a low population coin in 65RD and in 65cam as well. Why? I don't know, but it is a real tough date to find
this nice. It is interesting that all examples from this die pair exhibit a clash mark on both dies. very unusual for proofs.
1891 PR-65RB {PS} PCGS $1,550.00
See Image
Full red with outstanding surfaces! This coin is obviously a gem with original full red color on both sides. This is a difficult date to find
in such a high grade. Old green-label holder.
1891 PR-66RD {PS} PCGS $6,000.00
See Image
Here is an outstanding example with deep mirrors and frosty devices. It probably could get a cameo designation as it was last submitted in 2001, prior
to the cameo designation being given by PCGS. This is an old friend, which was in one of the top Indian Cents collections - the Heathgate collection which
was sold in 2001 (Goldbergs Benson I, 2/01:1136 $4,370). Most all the coins in that collection came from us, and I wrote the catalog, which is today a must-have
reference on Indian Cent Proofs. Still, only 4 are graded with no cameos in 66RD.
1894 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $1,750.00
See Image
Wonderful even color. Medium mirrors. Really a pretty coin. It has a lint strike-through on the neck and a small mark on the "N" in "ONE".
Old Green-label holder. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1894 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $1,850.00
See Image
A gem with outstanding color and wonderful eye appeal. This is a very tough date to find nice. With the population seen on these high end
Indian Cents, it is a wonder they are not $5,000!
1896 PR-65RB {PS} PCGS $750.00
See Image
25% RED. This is a beautiful even-colored example which flashes full red in the light. It is a slightly scarcer date.
1896 PR-65BN {PS} PCGS $700.00
See Image
A beautiful example with a trace of purple toning on both sides.
1898 PR-66BN {PS} NGC $1,250.00
See Image
This is an even magenta beauty. The reverse is more golden. Very attractive.
1898 PR-66RB {PS} NGC $950.00
See Image
70% RED. Mostly full red, but toned to a mellowed brick red color.
1899 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $1,750.00
See Image
Great eye appeal. A few light flyspecs, but otherwise a super piece. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1901 PR-66RB {PS} PCGS $1,350.00
See Image
90% RED. Beautiful orange-peel fields and nearly full red color. It is an awesome coin to see in person. The image does not do it justice!
1901 PR-65RB {PS} PCGS $650.00
See Image
50% RED. Nearly full red obverse and a deep magenta toned reverse. Old green-label holder.
1902 PR-67RD {PS} PCGS $8,750.00
See Image
An outstanding gem of the highest order! This beauty has deep mirrors and wonderful frosted devices. This piece was graded prior to PCGS issuing Cameo
designations and would probably garner one today. Any Indian Cent in this lofty grade is a real treat to behold.
This piece is simply outstanding. Ex; Heathgate collection; Goldbergs 2/2001.
1904 PR-65RB {PS} PCGS $1,250.00
See Image
20% RED. Beautiful deep red, magenta and emrald toning on both sides. This is a real beautiful piece.
1906 PR-65RD {PS} PCGS $1,750.00
See Image
30% RED. Very pretty bright gold color. A few flyspecks here and there, but nothing distracting. Ex: Robert Miller Collection
1907 PR-65RB {PS} NGC $1,500.00
See Image
This is a great coin with mutliple colors - emerald, magenta, gold and lavender.
1907 PR-65RB {PS} PCGS $900.00
See Image
80% RED. Nearly full red, with a slight mellowing of the color to shades of magena and gold. Very pretty. Old green-label holder.
