1856 Copper Nickel Half-cent J-177 PR-65 NGC

Prototype alloy test for the 1856 Flying Eagle cent. Bright with very good mirrors. Well struck with a nearly full coronet. Rims indistinct as always. This is due to the mint using type 1 planchets. This is important as it is one of the finest known examples. As nice as the Missouri cabinet example which sold for $14,000. 50 examples were struck and most are dull. Not this one!
